The native of Sudbury, Ontario played junior with the Galt Black Hawks and was an emergency fill-in for Chicago during later stages of the 1954 season. He then played two years with the senior Belleville TPTs, before turning pro in 1956-57 with the IHL's Huntington Hornets.
